Updated on June 2, 2015: Since the last 24 hours, scattered rain has been observed over southeast Pakistan. The temperatures of Hyderabad, Chhor, and Badim have already witnessed a drop of 4 to 5 degrees. An induced cyclonic circulation over Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan will bring good showers over Central and South Pakistan, which will abate the ongoing heatwave conditions from Nawabshah, and Pad Idan. Monsoon is expected to hit southeast Pakistan by mid July.
Updated on June 1, 2015: Severe heatwave conditions were prevailing over South-east and Central Pakistan around May 22 and 24. However, a cyclonic circulation developed over Central Pakistan adjoining Rajasthan which gave scattered dust storm and thundershowers giving some relief from the intense heat for a short period of time. Now again, temperatures are on a rising spree and are settling in the mid-40s.
In the wake of an approaching Western Disturbance, an induced cyclonic circulation will form over south central Pakistan adjoining Rajasthan. This system will result in dust storm and thunderstorm activity initially over east central Pakistan. Cities including Multan, Bahawalnagar, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur will get relief from the ongoing heat in the region.
After 48 hours, this cyclonic circulation will intensify giving rain over the entire region that cover East Pakistan. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, most parts of Pakistan which are reeling under intense heat will get relief due to this weather system by June 4 and 5, respectively.
After June 5, moist southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea will continue over these areas. This rainy activity will further keep the rising temperatures under check. The entire country will finally get much-needed relief from the scorching summer heat at least for some time.
