One of the most spectacular Orionid meteor showers will happen during the weekend. The meteor shower is produced by particles from Halley’s Comet through which Earth passes two times in a year. When these particles enter Earth’s atmosphere, they burn up and glow, creating the effect of a shooting star.

The meteor shower is expected to produce around 20-25 meteors per hour. To add colors to it, a full moon will create an extra light in the sky.
If one is able to find a good spot away from the city lights, it will be one of the brightest and most beautiful shows of the year. The peak time would be around 2 AM on Sunday night and Monday night lasting till dawn.
The best views can be captured from parts of the Arabian Peninsula into Afghanistan and Pakistan. Similarly, Western China and Japan are expected to get a good glimpse of the meteor showers.
Regions of South India, Indochina, Eastern China and the Western Philippines would be struggling with thick cloud cover and rainfall hence may not be able to view it. Similarly, in South Korea and Taiwan, the cloud cover after midnight could block the display of the meteor during the peak time.
However, no need to be disheartened if the weather doesn’t allow for a good view in your area during the peak of the event, as some meteors will be definitely visible each night through October 29.
