The maximum temperatures will settle well above normal for this time of the year on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures in Madrid will be close to 35°C and from Seville to Cordoba the temperatures will be 38°C or more. The normal temperatures at this time of the year in Madrid is around 25°C and for Cordoba and Seville it is around 30°C.
The heat will be at is most dangerous during the afternoon hours and this might prove hazardous for those doing strenuous exercises during that time of the day. People have been advised that should they have to be outdoors, they must make sure to drink plenty of water and stay as hydrated as possible. Coastal regions in eastern Spain will be cooler.
In Valencia the maximum temperature will be around 29°C on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Further to the north Barcelona will be will be a lot cooler and the maximum temperatures will hover around 25°C.
A storm system will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms across northern Spain from Friday into Saturday. This will cause a brief period of cool conditions across central and southern Spain.
Dry and unseasonably warm weather will persist across central and southern Spain from this weekend into early part of next week. The weather will cool down significantly from the middle of next week.
