NYC, Boston to see snow on first day of springThe first day of Spring has officially begun in the United States. However, some parts of the US may still see winter lingering on as the day is expected to be even colder than Christmas. Doesn’t sound much like spring does it?

Saturday night has already witnessed rain and some snow across the Mid-Atlantic. As the day progresses, Sunday night and Monday may observe heavy rain and snowfall in many parts of the United States.

The mountains of Maryland and West Virginia may see some snow accumulation. Travel interference may occur across the areas of New England.

Looking at the current track of the storm, several areas in Maine, Eastern Massachusetts and parts of Boston may record a few inches of snow.

Elevated and grassy areas will record the heaviest amounts of snow. Gusty winds will also blow over the region causing the snow to blow and reducing the visibility.

On Sunday night, urban areas including New York City, Portland, Philadelphia and Maine may also receive some snow resulting in cold weather conditions over the areas. However, the snow is likely to clear up by Monday morning.

New England may experience flight delays and road travel disruptions. Weather conditions will be quite cold even in the areas where no snowfall activity will be recorded. All in all, the first day of spring is likely to kick start on an icy note.
