Waves of colder air will continue to roll in over northeastern United States during the month of November. Therefore, winter will continue to get a stronger grip on the weather.
The warmth that has been prevailing over much of the Central states of US during the month of October will give way to winter-like conditions into the next week. However, the real winter chill will be limited to upstate New York and New England.
Most parts of the Northeast are expected to be colder than last year inNovember. However, average temperatures will settle near the normal levels. The temperatures recorded from November through December in 2015 averaged 6-10 degrees above normal.
In the beginning of November, normally maximums range from mid-sixties (degree Fahrenheit) in southeastern Virginia to mid-forties in northern Maine. As December approaches, normal high temperatures range between fifties in southeastern Virginia and the lower thirties in northern Maine.
Storms bringing snowfall could be witnessed once again during the late fall and early part of the winter.
Motorists should start preparing themselves for the big snowstorm of the season. Normal tires could be replaced with winter (snow) tires or a new set of all-weather tires possessing an aggressive tread and sufficient thickness.
