Northeastern US to see cooler, less humid September this week

August 29, 2016 11:45 AM |

Northeast US weatherRespite from high humidity and heat is likely to arrive in the northeastern United States at the start of September.

Soaring temperatures are slated to take a dip by almost 5-10°F and settle below average this week. While temperatures will witness a marginal decrease, relief from humidity will begin to seep in as the weekend approaches.

A spate of cold front will be instrumental in bringing in the relief from the heat that had been baking several areas of Northeast US till now. Places that will breathe a sigh of relief from the inclement weather are New York City, Burlington, Vermont, Portland, Maine, Boston and Washington, D.C.

From the highs of 80s and 90s, the temperatures will slash and settle in mid-60s to mid-70s across New England and the interior Northeastern parts. The hot days that are expected to be converted in warm days will most likely be followed by cooler nights.

However, after the weekend, much of the summer warmth is likely to return and persist for almost entire September.

However, this short-lived cool shot that will replace the heatwave like conditions will also give an opportunity to residents to venture out and indulge in beach related and other outdoor recreational activities over the weekend.
