Summer conditions are slated to come back to the northeastern part of US, namely Boston, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. These areas that narrowly escaped high heat over the 4th July weekend may witness temperature soar upto high 30s degree Celcius.
Midweek onwards, the humidity will climb along with steadily rising temperature. A heatwave is most likely from Washington, D.C. to Philadelphia that will be the hottest weather so far this year.
The lack of cooling winds and thunderstorms will also make weather highly uncomfortable.
The heat, however, will further dry out areas that are in need of rain. The majority of the Northeast was at least abnormally dry, according to the United States Drought Monitor's report from last Thursday.
The relief from heatwave or hot inclement weather will come knocking later in the week that will push the temperature slightly. Residents are advised to stay indoors and take proper measures to keep heat-related illnesses at bay.
