The storm which affected the Great Lakes region is now expected to travel north-east. New England is likely to be affected by this snow storm which will bring light snow to the region. The storm will also affect air and road traffic, causing minor flight delays from Detroit to New York City and into Boston.
This storm system will grow stronger as it approaches the Atlantic Ocean but that won’t lead to any serious snowstorm in New England region. Moreover, there is a healthy chance of a few inches of snow in and around Massachusetts along with Long Island and coastal New Hampshire. This snow shower is expected to occur between Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile in Boston, where around 70 inches of snow has bombarded the city over the last 30 days, snow farms have cropped up in the city. Authorities are busy clearing important streets and major roadways as tons of ice is being lifted and melted on a daily basis. In addition to all this, residents of Boston are currently dealing with 2 feet of fresh snow which caused the roofs of a few buildings to collapse under its weight. More snow is predicted for Boston during this weekend.
The temperatures in Boston can plummet to as low as zero on Monday morning. Boston is gearing up for what could turn out to be the lowest temperatures of this winter, all thanks to the outbreaks of Arctic air. Cold air and speeding winds will accompany the snowstorm expected to hit Boston this valentine’s weekend.
