Nock ten to track Philippines, threat to life and property persists

The Philippines may witness significant typhoon Nock-ten endangering property and lives across the country on the holiday weekend.

As the weather conditions prevailing in the region is Nock-ten, locally known as Nina is expected to strengthen speedily into a typhoon in another couple of days. The reason for this is the typhoon roiling westward through the Philippine Sea.

As per the weatherman, by the time the typhoon reaches the Philippines, the intensity of Nock-ten would be that of a Category 3 hurricane in the Atlantic or eastern Pacific oceans. Moreover, the typhoon scaling up to a Category 4 hurricane intensity is also predicted.

Moreover, there are chances that as and when Nock-ten will strengthen, winds, rain, and sea level will also rise around it. In fact, the weatherman has also warned that people residing in the Central Philippines will have to make necessary preparations for the upcoming typhoon on nearing festive holidays.

In fact, residents are also advisable to abide by any evacuation orders if given. As of now, the projected track of Nock-ten is the Bicol region as on Saturday night. Destructive winds and flooding rainfall may also accompany the typhoon.

As per the weatherman, the typhoon is expected to explode westward over south Luzon Island and Mindoro Island into Sunday night. The moment, this typhoon will interact with land, it is likely to weaken though gusty winds and showers will continue along Nock-ten’s path.

Flooding is also a possibility as Nock-ten may release 10-200 mm of rains along its path. Most of the rain is expected to lash in 6 to 12 hours. Mudslides are also a possibility.

Winds gusting at 160km/h will also lead to some damages to buildings and trees. People living in Naga and Legazpi can also witness power outages.
