No respite from heatwave for Central and Southern US

October 29, 2016 3:33 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Heat wave will continue to engulf Central and Southern US as we enter in to November next week. Not only this, weathermen are also predicting some record-breaking day temperatures in store for the region.

On Sunday, maximum temperatures are expected to settle above normal by 10 to 20 degrees right from the Southwest to the Rockies.

Highs are likely to reach up to 70s over central Plains, Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic states, South Dakota, Illinois and Iowa. Meanwhile, South, central Plains, mid-Mississippi Valley could see mercury rising to 80 to 90 degrees.

Day temperatures over Upper Midwest and western Great Lakes will once again surge above average by 10 to 25 degrees.
Similar weather conditions will prevail over the entire region on Sunday. No respite is expected on Monday also and may dampen Halloween celebrations as well.

Northeast is the only region to have some relief from warm weather. Day maximums will be near or even slightly below normal on Halloween.

Weathermen predict the warmest Halloween on record in some locations, all thanks to these record highs. November will be following the similar weather trend as of October, at during the first half of the month.
