Nate makes two landfalls in US, weakens into tropical storm

Tropical Storm Nate which had intensified into a hurricane as well has once again weakened into a tropical storm after making two landfalls over the United States. Due to the storm, strong winds, torrential rain as well as some flooding has been seen in Gulf coastal parts of the United States.

When the storm made landfall, it was a category one hurricane close to the Mississippi River’s mouth in Louisiana, during the late hours of Saturday, with maximum sustained winds reaching up to a whopping 137 kmph.

The chaos did not end right there but the storm did make a second landfall as well in the region of Biloxi, in Mississippi. However, after these two landfalls, the system did degrade into a tropical storm. However, if weather experts are to be believed, storm surge does remain over the region.
