Mild weather in New York, Northeast US for Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Good news for warm weather lovers in Northeast United States. This year Thanksgiving will be substantially warmer in the Northeast, as compared to the Thanksgiving Day in 2014. This warm-up will come after a chilly beginning to the week.

Last year around Thanksgiving, there was a snowstorm across the Northeast which brought heavy snowfall. Consequently, it was a chilly and white Thanksgiving for millions. High temperatures ranged between the upper 20s near the Canada border to the upper 40s in Virginia.

This year, Northeastern states will have dry weather conditions and ample of sunshine till Black Friday. All thanks to the high-pressure area prevailing over the region. Maximum temperatures will fall in the range of 10 and 15 degrees above average and around 20 to 30 degrees higher than temperatures during last Thanksgiving.

One might be able to enjoy the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, amidst fair weather conditions. Winter coats and hats may not be required in the afternoon. The prevailing weather conditions suggest that this month could be the warmest November on record for many Northeast cities.

Travelers across the East, either by air or road, need not worry about any weather-related delays on Wednesday or Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we cannot say anything similar to those traveling to the Western states. They might have to contend with flight delays caused by a snowstorm.

After witnessing milder conditions till Black Friday, a storm system will approach the Northeast by Saturday. Thus, fair weather will be short-lived as a shot of cooler air will build across the region during the weekend. Heavier jackets will once again come out of the closet.
