South Australia is expected to witness severe weather conditions in the coming days. Areas including Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia are all set to receive flooding rains accompanied by strong winds gusting up to 130kmph.

Flood warnings have been issued at many places including Broken Creek, Loddon River and Kiewa River. Many areas are expected to witness over 100 mm of rainfall. Temperatures are expected to witness a drop which is why the alpine region may also witness some unseasonal snow.

A flood watch has been issued for several parts of South Australia including Adelaide, mid-north as well as Mount Lofty Ranges. Here, many parts are likely to observed rains between 30 to 60 mm during the next 24 hours.

These rains will be attributed to a strong low pressure system which is in close proximity of the region.

The New South Wales region has already been witnessing flooding conditions for the past few days. In fact, now, floodwaters in areas including Forbes have been receding. Now, more rains are expected over many of these areas which will only result in rising water levels and worsening of the prevailing weather conditions.

The region is likely to be declared as a natural disaster zone with the estimated damage of about tens of million dollars.

The latter half of the week is also expected to bring rains and strong winds in areas of Tasmania as the low will move eastwards around Friday. The Kangaroo Island, Yorke, and Eyre Peninsula may witness heavy rains on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Melbourne may witness a few moderate showers on Thursday, while Sydney is likely to receive a few light spells only. Meanwhile, Queensland is expected to receive good rains during the next 24 to 48 hours owing to a trough passing through the region.
