Coming Saturday can be termed as a harsh day for the southwestern United States as the country may witness some flooding rain on the weekend.

As per the weatherman, parts of southwestern U.S. may be under the influence of whirling storm that is expected to send some moisture stream into the West Texas along with New Mexico and eastern Arizona into Saturday.

As the conditions seems favorable for the development of thunderstorms, westwards on Friday, possibility of local flash swamping is also likely throughout most parts of southern New Mexico.

These areas are more prone to torrential pouring and that could pick up some amount of rain in a short period of time leading to localized flash flooding. On the other hand, most areas can also receive a soaking rains while flooding other regions.

Residents are advised to avoid driving through flooded roadways and be cautious of washed-out roads. Over the next few days, the areas that are most likely to witness several rounds of downpour include Midland, Texas; and Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

However, if the experts are to be trusted, flooding is only one threat among the many others that include strong thunderstorms popping up across the region bringing in some hail and gusty winds along with them. Even in the non appearance of storms, winds gusting at a speed of 40 mph are still foreseen.

These torrential rains along with storms are expected to lash the region and continue through the weekend, the risk of wetting precipitation is expected to reduce greatly after Friday. Thereafter, dry weather is expected to return over the Southwest by Sunday. However, Texas will still witness some rains through the coming week.
