Sizzling heat has affected much of Sydney area over the past few days. The heat is here to stay for a day or so as Tuesday is going to be the warmest spell of heat. This is because Northwesterly winds will keep the sea breeze at bay in the region and the temperatures are expected to be between 28°C and 30°C.
Although it is very warm for September, the record has been 34.6°C in Sydney and 35°C for Richmond. Tuesday night will see a turn of events as there is going to be a change in wind direction. This will result in a drop in temperatures in the region and will settle in the high teens to low 20’s. This cool temperature is expected to last till Sunday.
Widespread rainfall will start affecting the region from Wednesday and Thursday is expected to be the wettest day of the week. This rain is attributed to the moisture-laden southeasterly winds. The showers will be confined mostly along the coast.
From Wednesday night to Sunday, rainfall of 10-25 mm could occur over Sydney. Heavier rainfall is likely to the east of Sydney.
