The reason for these rain and thundershowers can be accredited to a low pressure area over Saurashtra and Kutch region. Also, an induced cyclonic circulation is lying over Central Pakistan and a trough is running from this system across the low pressure area to Sindh.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Diplo recorded heavy rainfall of 70 mm, followed by Murree that witnessed 58 mm, Badin 52 mm, Thatta 40 mm, Karachi 35 mm, Sialkot 34 mm, Chhor 22 mm, Hyderabad 12 mm and Lahore 5 mm of showers.
