Wet and wild weather has been wreaking havoc over the residents of South Australia for the past 24 to 48 hours. The extreme weather caused due to a system in close proximity of the region has resulted in power loss across the state.
Heavy rains were witnessed across Adelaide causing power outage in many parts of the city. So much so, that until now 80,000 people are still without power in Adelaide. However, power has been restored for 90 percent of the houses in South Australia.
Torrential showers accompanied by strong winds battered the Victoria region. More rains are forecasted over the region causing much more damage in the coming days.
The town of Greenrock is at risk of flooding as a dam has burst in North of Adelaide in the Barossa Valley. Melbourne did not receive much rain and escaped the severe weather fury.
Heavy rains were recorded over many areas of Mount William, Charnwood, Moroko Park, and Matong North during the last 24 hours.
Now, during the next 24 to 48 hours, the storm cell is expected to hit the New South Wales. Severe weather is in store for the region with heavy rains and winds gusting up to 110 kmph. The possibility of flash flooding over some areas cannot be ruled out.
Areas including central and south tablelands and parts of the Hunter, the Riverina, Snowy Mountains are all expected to be affected. Thus, the coming days are expected to be a series of wild weather conditions for parts of South Australia.
