The reason for these showers could be attributed to the Tropical Depression Tara which was the 19th tropical storm to form in the East Pacific this season.

Tara debilitated into a tropical rainstorm on Tuesday night. However, rains would persist across Western Mexico through Wednesday.

As per weathermen, rain of 50-100 mm would be common, with an anticipation of 200 mm to occur across Colima, Western Jalisco and Southern Nayarit.

Destructive winds are likely to prevail particularly along the coastline. This along with heavy rains could cause widespread travel disruptions. Sea conditions are also expected to remain rough to very rough along the coast from Michoacan to Nararit.

Weathermen are of the view that rain and thunderstorms are all set to become organized by midweek making way for the next named tropical storm by Thursday or Friday.

The name Vicente would be given to the brewing tropical cyclone on attaining the expected strength. This system is expected to track northwest near the Mexico Coast, bringing the threat of flash floods and landslides from Chiapas to Oaxaca and Guerrero through Friday.

In a nutshell, areas that were affected by Tara would have another episode of heavy showers from Sunday into early next week.
