Hurricane Matthew pose serious threat in Caribbean

Major Hurricane Matthew is about to pose a threat to lives and property across Caribbean with heavy rain and gusty winds. Jamaica, eastern Cuba and Haiti are the regions that will witness the wrath of Matthew. The storm is likely to hit the region early this week.

At present the storm is a Category 4 Hurricane which is supposed to be a major Hurricane potential of being life threatening. The storm made a turn in a north-northwest direction on October 1.

This unprecedented turn pose a direct threat to Haiti and Jamaica along with East Cuba. The weathermen said, "There is a potential for Matthew to bring devastating winds, a deadly storm surge and flooding rain to parts of Jamaica, far western Haiti and eastern Cuba."

After rattling the Caribbean, Hurricane Matthew threatens to East Coast of United States in middle of the week.

After Gaston in August, Matthew is the second biggest hurricane of the season. For a brief period of time on Friday night, Matthew touched first Category 5 hurricane in the Atlantic. This is the first time since 2007’s Felix hurricane that any hurricane touched Category 5 in the region.

But soon enough, Matthew deterred into a Category 4 hurricane and after making a landfall over the Caribbean, it is expected to weaken further.

The weathermen said, "If Matthew weakens to a Category 3 hurricane at any point into Monday, it could strengthen back to a Category 4 hurricane on its approach toward Jamaica.”

After the landfall, gusty winds with heavy rains will follow along with gusty winds that will rattle the Jamaica and Haiti.
