Matthew is now holding the strength of a Category 4 hurricane, moving towards Haiti and the Dominican Republic with winds of about 233.35 kmph near its center.
It is likely to bring along with it strong damaging winds, torrential rains and mudslides over Haiti, Cuba and Jamaica. From Tuesday night to about Thursday, the storm will affect the Bahamas along with Turks and Caicos Islands. Thereafter, meteorologists across the world believe that Matthew’s track, timing and intensity seem uncertain. However, we can say that Hurricane Matthew will definitely impact the East Coast of the United States later this week. Nevertheless, its strength and severity are still to be gauged.
After travelling across the Bahamas, Matthew could aim for the US East Coast towards the end of the week.

Hurricane Matthew is feared to potentially catastrophic weather conditions over Haiti on Monday. It will slowly affect eastern parts of Cuba and Jamaica by Monday night. Matthew will gradually travel towards the Bahamas by midweek, before coming close to the US East Coast by the weekend.
As of now, hurricane warnings have been sounded for much of eastern parts of Cuba, the southeastern parts of Bahamas, and entire Haiti and Jamaica. The Turks and Caicos Islands and the Cuban province of Camaguey are also on high alert.
