Hurricane Irma continues its deadly sweep; to hit Florida soon

After throttling the Caribbean and killing at least 18 people, the life-threatening cat 5 Hurricane Irma is all set to smash Bahamas, Florida early Sunday morning through Monday (local timing). Irma that has gained strength of a cat 5 hurricane on Friday has already booked records of sustaining 185mph winds for more than 24 hours.

The monstrous hurricane is expected to affect nearly 1.3 million population in the US with over 650,000 alone in the Miami-Dade County. Irma will bring along life-threatening rains, winds, and flooding rains that may cause chaos.

Because of this terrifying hurricane, mandatory evacuation orders were kept in place for parts of Miami-Dade County, Broward County, Palm Beach County, Brevard County, and Monroe County.

With this, the nation is all set to witness a mass exodus, can also be termed as the largest mass evacuation in the history of the US. This mass evacuation may clog roads and may also cause traffic confusion mainly on Interstates 95 and 75 and the Florida Turnpike.

Florida was already under the emergency state for almost a week after the hurricane warnings were kept in place. Irma has already battered the Turks and Caicos Islands on Friday. Moreover, with one fatality, the Barbuda Island was already devastated.

Apart from Irma, the Caribbean will have to deal with the category 4 hurricane Jose that is advancing in the path to Irma. Moreover, the third disaster in the form of Hurricane Katia could also bring misery to the recent earthquake hit Mexico.
