Hurricane Andres Continues to Weaken, Another Tropical Depression Brewing in East PacificAnother hurricane is brewing in the eastern pacific waters, close on the heels of hurricane Andres. While hurricane Andres weakened as it moved over cooler waters, hurricane Blanca has quickly formed over the same region. Hurricane Blanca had maximum sustained winds of 140 kmph on Tuesday night. According to US National Hurricane Center, Blanca is likely to strengthen further on Wednesday and turn into a powerful hurricane. Sea conditions along the southwestern coast of Mexico will be rough.

As of now Blanca is around 640 km southwest of Zihuatanejo in Mexico. The hurricane is almost stationary and is not expected to move much on Wednesday night. Hurricane Blanca is the second hurricane of the season in the eastern Pacific waters. This Hurricane might follow the same path of Hurricane Andres.

Meanwhile, Andres has weakened and is now sustaining winds of around 130 kmph which is still hurricane force winds. It is likely to weaken further and turn into a tropical storm by Wednesday, turning into a tropical depression on Thursday. Currently Andres is centered around 1, 560 km southwest of the southern tip of Baja California.

It is to be noted that both the hurricanes are around 1000 km apart. This is a rare occurrence where two powerful hurricanes are at such a close distance.
