Although, conditions in some central parts of Alberta were seen improving during the day, decreasing the warnings for snowfall over these areas. However, some areas still have snowfall warnings in place.
Snow warnings remain in effect for Jasper National Park, Nordegg, Banff National Park, Kananaskis, Canmore, Crowsnest Pass, Pincher Creek and Waterton Lakes National Park.
However, the highway 93 N, also known as the ice fields parkway is expected to receive 40 centimeters of snowfall while all the other areas under the snowfall warning are expecting 20 to 30 centimeters of snow.
According to reports, Alberta highways are partly covered with snow and ice. Closer to Banff and Lake Louise, roads appear worse and are listed as snow-covered, especially on the TransCanada highway. Travel along these areas is strictly not recommended due to heavy snowfall, strong winds and poor visibility.
Talking about Calgary, snow is expected to continue during the day, with temperatures steady at -20°c and will be seen tapering off by the evening. By today night, the city of Calgary will be expecting around 10 centimeters of snow.
