Fairly widespread moderate to heavy rain and snow has occurred over Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and the northwest frontier province of Pakistan.
Light to moderate thundershowers have occurred over many places in Punjab Province. This was the second active Western Disturbance (WD) of this season.
Heavy rain and snow has caused landslides and flash floods over the hilly regions. As of now, this WD is moving away eastwards but it will continue to give scattered rain and snow over POK and adjoining north Punjab for another 24 hours. The places where significant amounts of rain have been observed in last 24 hours are: Balakot 67 mm, Kakul 60 mm, Parachinar 24 mm, Saidu Sharif 23 mm and Jhelum 20 mm.
Last Monday, rain and thunderstorm, associated with gusty winds, occurred at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and POK. Isolated rainfall was recorded in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Islamabad. The weather was dry in rest of the country.
