Britain is all set to get battered by some good spells and winds this weekend. The ongoing heat wave conditions would be a talk of the past now for the nation.
Strong winds gusting at the speed of 60 mph along with some good showers are likely to approach the U.K this weekend.
As per the weathermen, a 1500 mile wide Atlantic storm cloud could possibly bring in some strong summer winds along with a few sharp showers.
Though, August was observed as the hottest for three years, Britons would not have to witness soaring temperatures of 27°C. In fact, the Met Department had also issued warnings against spring tides in the southwest and deluge in the north.
Account of road and rail blockages due to trees trembling have also been reported. The Met Department claims that the wind gusting would initiate from Friday until Saturday at a rolling speed of 60mph particularly on the southern coasts. These winds are also likely to hit Bournemouth, Brighton and Great Yarmouth.
Winds speeding at 45 mph are likely over the inland region while the northern parts may witness winds gust of 30mph. Moreover, rains. Temperatures are also expected to reduce fall to 15-21°C with the Met Office forecasts more showers on Sunday and Monday.
Heavy rain bursts are likely over most parts of Britain with the northwest experiencing continuous rainfall for three to five hours.
These intensified winds are likely to move into southwestern areas on Friday. However, more aggressive winds are expected across southwest England and south Wales. These winds will then spread across the south coast of England.
Localized flooding is also predicted along the coastal promenades due to spring tides. While the low-lying land at high tide around the south west, mainly in North Devon and the Bristol Channel is also warned against flooding alerts.
