The temperature is expected to be in upper 90°F to lower 100s F through this week. Heat will continue affect most of Washington, D.C., to New York City.
This means that even with the storms in the region the heatwave will remain rooted across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast this week as well.
This week the Democratic National Convention will be held in Philadelphia and people in large numbers are expected to show up amidst the heatwave. The temperatures are expected to be in the range of 95 to 105 degrees F in afternoon hours but these numbers will fall by late evening.
But in contrary, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. are experiencing the streak of 90-degree plus temperatures. These cities are currently on a six-day streak.
"A classic midsummer front will cross the region early this week, ushering in some relief to the excessive humidity, but it will do little to put a dent in the heat," said the weatherman.
The humidity will move northward across the Northeast later this week. But the humidity is expected to make a comeback around Thursday and Friday.
"Overall, the weather pattern looks to remain a bit warmer than normal well into early August. This will not only be across the Northeast, but across much of the country," said the weatherman.
