The Australian nation has been witnessing severe weather conditions for quite some time. Moreover, record breaking heatwave in Adelaide and adjoining areas have been wreaking havoc over the nation resulting in temperatures way above the normal levels.

In fact, there have been places like Port Augusta where maximum temperatures reached very close to 50 degrees Celsius. Heatwave in Australia has not made an appearance over the nation the first time this year. In fact, last year, weather conditions had worsened with temperatures breaking records.

In fact, heat has also had an effect over the Australian Open with Novak Djokovic getting a win after Kei Nishikori was retired hurt. Roof at the Rod Laver Arena remained closed saving players from the intense heat conditions. Some matches have also been suspended which were to be played outdoor.

In fact, through the semifinal between Petra Kvitova and Danielle Collins roof of Rod Laver Arena was closed partway due to the heat.

Good news is all set to come as Melbourne will see some cooler air as players play in on Saturday and Sunday.

Not only this, while the southern parts are reeling under intense heatwave conditions, the western parts of Australia have been under the influence of a storm named Riley which has developed overnight. It is likely to move closer to the coast and move parallel for some time, giving more rainfall for western regions in the coming days.

Not only this, an invest area named 95 P has developed over the northern parts due to which rainfall activity has been witnessed in North Australia as well. In fact, due to the invest area being closer to the coast, rains have been very heavy in many parts. Also, chances are that the invest area might develop into a Tropical Cyclone in the next 24 hours itself.

In a period of 24 hours, Weipa Amo saw 120 mm rains, Cairns Airport 77 mm, Gove Airport 65 mm and in the west, Troughton Island recorded 48 mm of rainfall wherein Kalamburu has seen 56 mm of rains followed by Mandora 27 mm, Port Hedland Airport 25 mm.

More rain is in store for both north and western parts while the southern parts will see some relief from intense heatwave.
