A storm is expected to lash most parts of Germany around Tuesday and Wednesday. This will give a wintry mix of rain and snow over the region.

Snow will be confined over the higher reaches of east-central Germany including the Thuringian Forest and Ore Mountains.

Roads will be snow packed and slick resulting in slow travel.

Frankfurt is also expected to reel under the snowy showers; however, temperatures will remain above freezing which will limit accumulations on roadways.

Weatherman expects a few snowy showers in southern and eastern Germany on Thursday as well.

A blast of arctic air is expected which will turn the weather even colder by Friday. This is expected to be the coldest air of the season for most places.

Day temperatures will settle around minus 7 degrees Celsius in Munich and surrounding areas of Bavaria on Friday, while it will fail to reach zero degrees across the rest of Germany both Thursday and Friday outside of the Northwest Coast.
