For all you Game of Thrones we have some bad news. The upcoming season 7 may be delayed than its usual timing as winter has not come early enough for the team to begin the filming of the next season.
The weather conditions in the real world is not as consistent as in the Westeros. While the latest season finale ended with the confirmation of Ned Stark’s warning, “Winter is Here”, it seems that viewers may have to wait just a tad bit more to be able to see the next season as weather conditions are affecting the shooting schedule.
While HBO airs each season in April, this year Season 6 was aired on April 24. As per the writers and the producers David Benioff and DB Weiss, the wait for the next season is likely to be even longer. Now everything has been put on hold so that some grim weather is captured even in the sunnier areas to make winter in Westeros literally look wintry.
The latest season was shot in a number of locations of Croatia, Spain and Northern Ireland. Now, since winter is here, sunny weather conditions in these areas don’t serve the purpose anymore.
Another news that has come in is that Season 7 is expected to be shorter than the previous seasons. In fact, about 13 episodes will be divided among the two upcoming seasons, which means 6 to 7 episodes per season.
