The recent warm weather in UK may just be a trailer of the things to come during the approaching summer season. This summer season will not feature extreme heat but will feature frequent storms.

This year started on a wet note and it looks like the trend will continue well into the summer season, this would mean increased chances of localized flooding and particularly in those area which are recovering from the floods during that struck during the early part of winter.

The heat will be kept at bay by the high pressure area situated to the west of Ireland and UK along with this there will be a series of depressions between Iceland and the British Isles. While the center of these depressions will pass just to the north of Scotland, there will be frequent rain across much of Scotland. The heaviest rain will occur across Northern Ireland, western Scotland and northwest England. Along with heavy rain occasional thunderstorms with small hail is possible. These depression will result in seasonable temperatures and prevent long spells of extreme heat. The frequency of these depressions will not let any extended heat waves to hit the Isles.

Although no extended heat waves are forecasted for the region yet the temperatures might go upto the upper 20s.

Last year record breaking temperatures were recorded across the UK, with the temperatures soaring upto 36°C on 1st July. This heat interrupted matched at the Wimbledon, this situation is not likely to occur this year. Early summer will be cool with the summer peaking in July and August.
