In a freak tornado event in New Orleans on Tuesday, NASA facility has been damaged. Here, workers are currently building key components of NASA’s new deep-space rocket. The incident took place during the afternoon hours.

The twister caused massive damage including ripped holes on walls as well as the roof. However, no damage to life was reported at the facility as per NASA’s statement. A damage assessment had been sent the same day.

The twister took at least half a dozen cars along with it while rocking them like rag dolls. The ones in the driveway took shelter wherever they could.

After the passage of the first tornado, due to the pungent smell of gas, workers were sent out of the building. However, more tornadoes were reported which is why people had to take shelter once again. Due to this, a full damage assessment could not be done.

No damage has been reported to the hardware for the new deep space rocket. Workers patched the holes caused by the tornadoes so as to ensure that no water damage was done.
