Low clouds along with fog formation have already affected parts of South Germany thereby disrupting the travel as well in the first half of the week. This perilous condition is expected to continue until Saturday.
The reason for the deposition of the fog is the strong area of high pressure centered around south Germany. This area of high pressure is likely to stay immobile through the coming weekend particularly until Saturday. This will result in the development of light winds thereby preventing quick scattering of the mist and low clouds.
Due to the fog formation, temperatures will also be restricted from rising above the freezing level through Friday morning. Some ice and sleet can, however, be noticed on trees and power lines that may cause power outages at some areas. Air and road traffic may be disrupted.
Chilly weather will prevail in the Southern part of the country on one hand, while on the contrary, temperature disparity will be observed at the northern part of the country.
Some parts of South Germany may witness temperatures climbing above 0°C (32 F) on Thursday, while temperatures are expected to settle at 9°C (48 F) from Cologne to Germany due to milder air.
Chances are that the southern Germany may witness temperatures scaling around 4°C on Friday while, warmer weather will prevail in the northern parts of the country.
Moreover, as air contaminants are unable to disperse from the environment, the air quality across the Southern Germany will be hampered along with light winds for next several days. This is most likely to cause the pollution level in the area to upsurge significantly.
On the other hands, pleasant weather is likely to prevail over parts of northern Germany. The reason for this is that the Atlantic Ocean pushing up the temperatures above normal. Few showers are on the cards through Saturday from Cologne to Hamburg and Berlin.
