Much of Spain has been receiving heavy rainfall for the last few days. Spells of rain will continue well into the middle of the week when much of the nation will celebrate the Feast of Epiphany also known as 'Three Kings’ day, which falls on Wednesday.
Areas from Galicia to Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha and into Andalucia will be getting rain on Tuesday. The rain will persist in the evening hours and will affect the parades and outdoor celebrations across the nation. Those taking part in the celebrations will have to be prepared for the rain.
Not only will the rain be a major factor but strong winds gusting up to 50 kmph will also have a bearing on the celebrations. The strongest wind will be along the coast of Galicia. Winds from the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Biscay will be gusting up to 70 kmph. However, this type of unsettled weather is likely to continue well into Wednesday as a warm front is likely to affect much of western Spain. A steady spell of rain will affect northwestern parts of Spain. It could be heavy enough to cause minor flooding.
Much of central Spain will see rainfall subsiding by Wednesday evening, while the eastern coast of Spain, from Barcelona to Almeria, will remain dry.
Looking ahead, similar weather condition is likely to continue during the latter part of the week as another weather system will bring heavy rain from Galicia to western parts of Castile and León, later on Friday and into the weekend.
