Weather conditions in the United Arab Emirates once again took a turn when rains made an appearance over the city of Dubai during the early morning hours of today. Traffic jams were massive as rains and haze wreaked havoc over the city.
As per the NCMS, right from the Airport up to the Dubai-Al Ain Road, almost all routes observed some rainfall activity. Not only this, rainfall was also recorded in the capital city of UAE, Abu Dhabi. Other areas including Al Ain, Khalifa City and Al Rahba also witnessed rains. Good rains were seen in the districts of Tarif, Al Yahar and Al Marfa.
Due to the rainfall activity in several parts, the temperatures at around 6 in the morning dropped to a mere 12 degrees in Dubai. Thus, the next two to three days will observe cool weather conditions. During this time, the temperatures will settle at 15 degrees. The maximum is likely to settle at around 22 degrees.
Traffic delays were witnessed in parts of Dubai and Sharjah in view of the weather conditions. Haze will continue over the city for at least the next few days. In fact, motorists have been advised to avoid travel due to the prevailing rough weather along with strong winds. Dust and sand are likely to blow across several areas which may affect visibility.
