Dry and mild weather in Germany by the weekend

Germany has been experiencing wet weather for quite a while and the wet weather is likely to continue through the midweek. However, there will be a turn in the weather as warm and dry conditions are expected over the weekend.

A low-pressure system is currently moving across the North Sea and will give rain throughout Germany on Wednesday. Most of the rainfall will occur across the northern parts including Bremen, Hamburg, Flensburg and Stralsund. Steady rain will occur during morning hours but, few showers will linger on during the afternoon.

Brief and scattered showers will affect further to the south in places like Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Cologne and Munich.

While the rainfall affecting northern Germany will end on Wednesday night, a storm system moving in from France will affect central parts of Germany on Thursday. On Thursday areas from Dusseldorf to Cologne and Frankfurt eastward to Leipzig and Dresden can experience rainfall during daytime. Steady rainfall of totals of upto 25 mm is expected from Cologne to Frankfurt on Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.

On the southern side of this rain very warm conditions is expected with places like Stuttgart and Munich experiencing the warmest day of the year thus far. On the northern side, the conditions will be seasonal.

Rainfall will end on Friday throughout Germany and will give way to drier and milder condition during the weekend across the entire country.
