A thundery afternoon awaits Sydney after a series of storm cells will shift from the Blue Mountains.

Rains are likely to spread across the city in the form of thundershowers. Especially the western region of the city will be crowded with the commuters gazing at the sky for rains.

As per the weatherman, these rains along with the storm activities are likely to affect the west of Parramatta. Furthermore, there are chances of these storms moving further towards the eastern suburbs.

Moreover, the storm can affect the city towards late afternoon at about 5 pm. However, they are likely to start clearing off by midnight. Short bursts of rain and robust winds are foreseen along with the storm.

In fact, during the early hours of Wednesday, isolated storms brought in lightning and thunderstorms with them to region from Bankstown to Botany Bay. Evenings are also predicted to stay rainy though storms are still not a surety.

A similar set-up could bring further storms on Friday and Saturday to the Sydney region, a pattern likely to be repeated for some time. The storm activity is also expected to increase in another two to three weeks.

As per the Bureau of Meteorology, severe thunderstorm warning along with sleet and torrential showers and destructive winds can make an appearance on the eastern NSW close to Sydney’s western edge.

Possibilities of heavy rains causing flash flooding can also be not ruled out completely. Areas that are expected to be the most affected by these storms and heavy rains include Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Taree, Armidale, Tamworth and Moree."
