A cold snap is paving its way towards Germany and the country is likely to witness a feel alike of December-like weather in the coming week. Germany will see a colder air settling with chilly air filtering in over the weekend.
As per the weatherman, this is being considered as the coldest weather so far in this fall season. Maximum temperatures are expected to settle approximately at 4-8°F below the normal.
In fact, the mercury will also be not able to rise more 40°F in many communities. This will make the weather feel more of a colder weather like December. Temperatures will fall below the freezing level considerably during night. The areas that will witness a plunging weather includes Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg and Munich.
Moreover, last time Berlin witnessed a chill was in mid-march. It is advisable that residents should gear up for the cold front and animals should be kept safely under proper shelters.
The cold air front is also expected to add up to the wintry feel of the country and may give snowflakes at certain parts as well.
Higher terrains are the areas that are more likely to witness some snow during early week. The north-central mountains are expected to witness more snow than the farther south.
Some wet snowflakes possibly during heavy rainfall or during night can also be observed over some of the lower elevations. Since the cold front will work its way into Germany at midweek and cold air will be in place, any rainfall will start as snow or a wintry mix that will change to rain in the afternoon.
However, possibilities are that the December-like freeze would ease out next weekend.
