Deadly tornado rips through Texas Mexico Bordering region

In what is described as the deadliest tornado the North America has seen this year, the tornado ripped through Ciudad Acuna which is a Mexican town close to the border of Texas on Monday. The tornado was so powerful that buses and cars were tossed around like toys and around 400 homes were destroyed. So much so that there is nothing standing, no walls, no posts in a square-kilometer area.

At around 7 a.m. on Monday, the tornado originated from a supercell which formed just south of a densely populated city close to the Mexico-Texas border. Most of the region was affected by rain, hail and strong winds, but Ciudad Acuna bore the brunt of this severe weather. The tornado which hit Ciudad Acuna was packed with around 220 kmph wind speed. The tornado came from the same system of storms that had drenched Houston over the weekend.

According to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) over 100 tornados were reported during the holiday weekend. This tornado was by far the fiercest with wind speeds equaling to an F-3 which has left around 13 dead. Such a strong tornado is unusual for a location this far south.
