More than 4,000 firefighters have been deployed to battle the blaze, more than a dozen raging wildfires burning across the state of California. The wildfires have blackened more than 35,700 acres and ruined more than 150 homes. However, weather experts anticipate cooler weather towards the weekend that will help the firefighters in their rescue efforts.

Several areas in California have been reeling under triple digit temperatures due to the blistering heatwave. For instance Los Angeles, a southern Californian city had been witnessing 113 degrees Fahrenheit earlier this week. Though the temperature has taken a dip to settle near low 90s. Further decline is anticipated as the weekend nears.

Milder weather ahead is expected to provide enough reprieve from the recent surge in temperature.

California’s epidemic wildfires and the extreme hot weather have left 66 million dead trees in the state since 2010. This extreme weather has put forest health of California under dangerous situation.

The heat also has long-term consequences for crops that are observing widespread damage, leaving farmers a worried lot in California. According to Weather.com, recent early heat in California has shredded avocado crop before its sale was expected to spike. Moreover, some small farms lost entire trees to the heat wave.
