The United Arab Emirates has been witnessing unstable weather conditions and cloud seeding has been enhancing the weather. Cloud seeding has been going on for the past few days. Cloud seeding also took place on November 19 and will continue until there are no clouds left.
Cloud Seeding is an expensive experiment but as the United Arab Emirates does not receive rains naturally, cloud seeding becomes a cost effective one. During that time, it does rain enough for them to even store some. The National Centre of Meteorology monitors both the weather and clouds with the use of a very sophisticated weather surveillance radar.
Cloud seeding can only be carried out with rain bearing clouds, i.e. the cumulus clouds. Thus, once these clouds are identified, aircrafts carrying salt crystals which is further mixed with magnesium, sodium chloride and potassium chloride, they are shot into the skies.
There have been 181 cloud seeding flights since January until November 11. More flights have been carried out thereafter as well, resulting in more rains across the country for the last ten days.
Further, the salt crystal flares result in the formation and release of cloud moisture, furthermore, causing rainfall. Many parts of the country have witnessed some rainfall activities.
Talking about the weather forecast, more rains are expected over UAE including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain.
Even India has tried cloud seeding with states Maharashtra and Karnataka, but it was not that successful.
