The holiday weekend is approaching across the world and Germany is expected to brace for a pair of storms passing the northern part of the nation. This could bring in some periodic rains along with strong winds to parts of the country.

The torrential showers and destructive winds are likely to hit Germany to the north affecting travel, particularly in the northern areas.

Extensive weather problems are more likely foreseen from Hamburg to Kiel. However, Rostock can also witness some bands of rains along with strong gusty winds on coming Saturday and Sunday. As rains are expected to be less than 12 mm, which is not even an inch, possibility of flooding in the region is not predicted. But these showers can still cause travel disruption and slick roadways.

Winds are also expected to gust at over 50km/h on weekends across northern Germany. These gusts can also reach up to 65km/h. South Germany is also forecast to witness winds gusting at 30km/h.

As per the weatherman, as mild air is also expected to approach along with each storm, any possibility of snow is ruled out even at the higher elevations. Regions like Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Nuremberg and Munich are expected to witness some light occasional showers along with gusty winds and breeze.

Temperatures are also expected to remain above normal across all parts of the country. The maximum may range from 6°C to 8°C (42-48 F) across Germany on Saturday. Further, it will turn even milder on Sunday, the Christmas Day.

Moreover, temperatures are also expected to reach to 10°C or slightly higher in a few locations from Frankfurt to Hamburg and Berlin. Calm weather is predicted on Friday which could, in turn, resume the travel disruptions.

Thereafter, colder weather is predicted to make a comeback next week along with the threat for some strong winds.
