Weather in Northeast US is heading towards a drastic turn, as cold and chilly weather is likely to replace warm summer-like weather. Some places could even witness snowfall.
According to meteorologists, colder air that has been making a slow progress across the Midwest before the end of the week. However, we can expect these winds to speed up and engulf Appalachians by late Friday night and Atlantic Seaboard on Saturday.
The record day temperatures that were in the range of 70°F to 80°F will register a significant drop and would settle between 40°F and 50°F. Meanwhile, night temperatures will be in the range of 30°F to 40°F.
Weathermen predict that passing rains and thundershowers, accompanied with gusty thunderstorms will mark the leading edge of the colder air.
Some places may even witness severe weather conditions. For instance, we can expect heavy showers over Upstate New York and North and East New England, leading to flood like conditions. The first accumulating snow of the season also cannot be rule out during this perdition.
For the first time this season, we can also see snowflakes or sleet is also expected over the higher regions of Alleghenies, Catskills, Poconos, Berkshires and Endless mountains.
We can expect some relief from the chilly weather on Sunday afternoon as the winds will slowdown with some sunshine. As a result, day temperatures will also increase marginally and settle between 50°F and 60°F.
