Chicago observed the warmest weekend in last 100 years

Last Friday, the city of Chicago broke a record which stood for more than 100 years. Friday’s temperatures shot up to 67°F, which happens to be record that stood from 1880. That year, the city reached its maximum temperature on February 17 was 60°F.

Taking advantage of such weather was the Shoreline Sightseeing. A dedicated company that offers lake view ferry rides. They offered three 75-minute-long architecture tours departing from Navy Pier's Polk Bros.  "The river is not frozen so we're taking advantage," said Amy Hartnett, Shoreline's director of sales and marketing. "We're certainly hoping for a great crowd."

Saturday's temperatures were high with mercury touching 70 degrees. Saturday's high was the third-highest temperature recorded during the month of February while Sunday's ranked fifth. This weekend along with few days into this week are likely to be very warm with temperatures hovering north of 60°F.

The first 19 days of February are warmer than first 19 days of March last month. Typically the temperatures around this time of the year hover around 30°Fs.

The coming days in the week will also be unlikely high. Monday’s maximum is expected to be around 66°F whereas the record high temperature is 64°F. Tuesday’s maximum temperature is expected around 66°F while the record stands at 67°F. Similar will be the trend on Wednesday.
