Snow tires seems to be the need of the hour in Montreal as the icy conditions in the city has led to a massive traffic pile up in the city. Several vehicles piled up on a snowy morning including a police vehicle, several busses, cars and a snowplow truck.

Even though the pile up did not have any serious damage to any but cars piling up even with such advancement in engineering is weird thing to watch.

CBC Montreal tweeted this which caused widespread reaction

Some were definitely concerned:

While other took the collision in a humorous way:

Colin Creado works on Viger Street at the corner of Beaver Hall where the collision took place. He said, "A bus, full of people, which couldn't stop & crashed into the other bus. I could see the cop car literally jump in the air. It was pretty powerful."

He continued, "You would have thought ... they (municipality) would have salted the area or at least cordoned it off, because that road is pretty steep."

All cars in Quebec, by law, are required to have snow tires to avoid such collisions but this law is for a brief time period from December 15 to March 15 when the entire country is under a quilt of thick fog.
