The hottest September in more than fifty years is hovering over Britain and is likely to arrive on Tuesday.
As per the Met Department, Tuesday is expected to witness soaring temperatures of 30°C in the Southeast while Scotland is expected to observe a whopping 32°C.
The forecasters claim that the last time Britain has witnessed soaring temperatures of 30°C in September was in the year 2006. Wherein, the mercury has scaled up to 30.5°C at Gatwick.
However, in case, the temperatures rose above 31.6°C, then that would be the hottest September after year 1961, approximately 55 years back.
The record for Britain observing highest temperatures in the month of September has been booked in the year 1906. Wherein, mercury witnessed monstrous highs of 35.6°C which was observed in Bawtry, South Yorkshire.
The reason for these basking temperatures can be attributed to a surge of warm air arriving from the south, originating from southern France and northern Spain. Moreover, Britons are expected to witness baking temperatures for the rest of the week now.
However, Wednesday has potential for the same sort of temperatures, around 30°C, with a possible thundery breakdown.
In a nutshell, it can be concluded that Britain is expected to bake in soaring temperatures for almost entire month.
