After witnessing temperatures plummeting to sub-zero levels and mercury hitting a freezing -9°C last week, weather of Britain has taken a U-turn.

It was thought for once that the country will witness a white Christmas however, as per the weather experts, now the country is expected to witness some good sunny days.

As per the weatherman, Britain is likely to bask in the spring-like season with the mercury expected to settle at a good 15°C. In a way, Britain’s wintry chill will get shoved off followed by some sunny spells.

The reason for the sudden change in the weather across the Britain can be associated with low-pressure systems bringing in some warmer air from the south that is expected to sweep through the nation. This has led to the last week’s bone-chilling winds to rest aside.

Mercury is expected to shoot up and Britain is likely to witness highs of 12°C in the south. However, the north will remain slightly freezing with mercury settling at 5°C.

Though by Wednesday, temperatures are again expected to shoot up to 15°C. This is basically 10°C higher than the average for December month for the country.

The northwest may be battered by some heavy rains and winds gusting at 50mph through mid-week as the storm slopes on the UK from the Atlantic Ocean.

The reason for these strong winds and rains can be attributed to the south-westerly flow of winds. This will lead to marginal temperature change.
