Britain is set to swelter in heat with most parts of the country recording temperatures hotter than Turkey. In fact, many places of the country were placed on high alert due to the warm weather. Also, Britain is expected to flame with temperatures around 31°C.
As summer came back with a boom, the highs led the officials at Public Health England and the Met Office to issue high level heatwave alerts.
Temperatures have already reached 30°C in Gravesend, Kent and are expected to maintain similar heights again today.
While the south has basked in the best of the weather, the north has received fair amounts of rain this week.
Highs of 22°C are anticipated in the north and Scotland on Wednesday but the country as a whole will see a drop in temperatures by Friday. The south may see highs of 25°C while the north could be a bit colder with 17°C.
The bank holiday weekend is likely to be marred by rain and thunderstorms from Thursday which will cover much of the country on Sunday.
Nevertheless, the sun is set to break through the showers with warmer weather recurring on Saturday with highs of 30°C yet again.
According to weather experts, temperatures will make a comeback for the weekend and there is also a possibility of thundery showers.
