Sky gazers from across the world are anticipated to witness the so-called annular solar eclipse which will occur on February 26.

This celestial event will show up a mesmerizing ring of sunlight in the sky. The eclipse can be spectated in Chile and Argentina and then moving across the South Atlantic Ocean and ending in Africa at sunset.

The event of the solar eclipse occurs when the Moon emanates between the Earth and the Sun. The Moon either partially or fully block out some of the Sun's light thus causing a solar eclipse.

Moreover, the path of solar eclipse after passing over Angola is expected to conclude at near the border of Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The annual celestial event will be seen by people living in South America and Africa. Though parts of Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and Antarctica will also be able to witness the solar eclipse.

As per the weatherman, the eclipse will begin at around 12.10pm GMT on February 26 and will be at its peak at around 2.58pm GMT. The eclipse will continue for approximately three hours before setting at 5.35pm GMT on Sunday.

As per the weatherman, this eclipse is not going to block the entire sun’s disc and hence cannot be termed as a total solar eclipse. However, astronomers are ready to mark their calendars for a total solar eclipse which is predicted to occur on August 21, 2017.
