The reason why parts of Bangladesh was reeling under flooding situation was the heavy rains occurring in Northeast India. Additionally, parts of North Bangladesh was also under the influence of hefty rains.
As Brahmaputra and Padma Rivers along with their tributaries were also on a high, flowing above the danger level, the situation worsened in Bangladesh leading to floods. However, Skymet Weather expects some relief from the ongoing heavy rains within the next 4-5 days.
As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over East India. Therefore, humid winds from the Bay of Bengal which was feeding moisture over Bangladesh will get diverted towards the eastern states of India.
Due to this, the moisture incursion will become less thereby resulting in reduced rain activity in Bangladesh for the next 4-5 days. Hence, Bangladesh can expect a relief from the flooding situation due to the decreasing rains.
