Perfect sunny days for most of the capital cities of the country are predicted for Australia Day coming Thursday. This will though not lead to cancellation of Australia Day barbecue, however, light drizzle is also forecast in some states.
Though the sun will show up but the weather will not be scorching hot. Moreover, temperatures are also expected to stay cooler than the heatwave condition the country has been witnessing from last few weeks.
Let’s have a look at the weather forecast for the cities across Australia:
SYDNEY AND CANBERRA
Weather is expected to remain cloudy and the temperature is not expected to hit scorching 30°C in Sydney but is likely to settle at 27°C. Light rains may occur in the city. Canberra, on the other hand, is likely to witness 30°C.
MELBOURNE
Melbourne is likely to remain slightly on the cooler side and possibility of much showers is ruled out. However, Melbournians may witness only light drizzle that will be short lived particularly in the morning and early afternoon. Strong winds are though predicted to lash Victoria’s capital.
BRISBANE
Brisbane is expected to witness soaring 32°C temperatures on Australia Day. There is a possibility of light drizzle curtailing down the minimums to settle at 23°C. Strong winds are predicted easing out by the evening.
ADELAIDE
Adelaide that has been witnessing rains is expected to observe sunny days. Temperatures are likely to settle at 30°C and are likely to remain in low 30’s for the entire weekend. Winds are also likely to gust at 20 and 30 km/hr.
DARWIN
The most unpleasant condition across Australia is expected to be witnessed by Darwin. People staying in this part of the country are warned to get their brollies out as it is going to rain harshly on the Northern Territory capital. This might wash out the barbecue plans.
Maximum temperature is expected to settle at 29°C. As per the Bureau of Meteorology, a thunderstorm is also expected along with strong gusty winds.
PERTH
Boiling hot weather is predicted for Perth on Australia Day. Temperatures are likely to settle at a scorching 40°C while minimum may give some relief settling at 22°C. Weather will not be cloudy and hence chances of rain is ruled out
HOBART
Weather in Hobart state particularly in Tasmania is expected to remain cooler and temperatures may reach 24°C. Minimum of 14°C is also predicted for Australia Day. Though weather will be partly cloudy and hence there are chances of some light drizzle making way in the morning and afternoon.
